Research Paper on Fraud Cause of Global Warming

 

1. INTRODUCTION

The first time I heard the word “global warming” was when I was a fifth grade student. As summer break homework, my homeroom teacher assigned us a research paper on the global warming, and a series of shock overtook me as I kept reading articles about it. Carbon dioxide gases coming out from my dad’s car, my television, computer, and fridge are killing out world! It was a shock and scary enough to freak out a fifth grade student. After I read articles, I went to my dad, who has degrees in biology and physics, to ask is global warming actually going on. And he said that some evidences are found which supports global warming might just be a part of cyclic climate change. So, I decided to research on the global warming, focusing on the point of view that the global warming is not human-made and just a cyclic climate change.

1. BACKGROUND INFORMATION

Collapse of iceberg, decreasing icecaps, and other environmental changes were observed, and the U.N. Framework Convention on Climate Change published a shocking report in 1994 that global warming is in progress and 90% of Ozone layer is destroyed (Wikipedia Global Warming). Many environmental NGOs began public movements for reducing carbon dioxide emissions, and formal U.S. Vice President Al Gore made a documentary program about global warming, An Inconvenient Truth, and won Novel Peace Prize. However, what if the theory of global warming is based on uncertified hypothesis? What if a number of fundamental evidence of global warming is fixed and unconvincing? Can we really say that global warming is created by human, not by nature?

The counterargument on the theory of global warming has been highlighted since December of 2009, when emails from the University of East Anglia’s Climactic Research Unit in the U.K. were revealed, stating that leading climate researchers are suppressing scientific data that shows that climate change is not occurring. In those emails, leading climate researcher Phil Jones and Michael Mann, who both participated in IPCC reports, wrote, “I’ve just completed Mike’s Nature trick of adding in the real temps to each series for the last 20 years and from 1961 for Keith’s to hide the decline,” “The fact is that we can’t account for the lack of warming at the moment and it is a travesty that we can’t… Our observing system is inadequate… I’ll be emailing the journal to tell them I’m having nothing more to do with it until they rid themselves of this troublesome editor (Matthews).” Then what scientific evidences have been suggested in favor of man-made global warming?

1. SUGGESTED EVIDENCE FOR GLOBAL WARMING

Those famous evidences that those pros of global warming confidently suggest are atmospheric carbon dioxide concentration, sea-surface temperature, frequency of hurricanes, and extent of sea ice.

As shown in graph 1, the concentration of carbon dioxide has been increasing exponentially over 50 years. Those in favor of global warming interpret this graph as a result of man’s burning fossil fuels and that it is causing the apparent recent warming trend which is melting the polar caps.  Also, they say that if global warming is occurring, then sea-surface temperature and hurricane frequency should be increasing, and polar sea ice should be decreasing. Graphs 2~4 show that the trends for all three hypothesis seem to be consistent. Sea-surface temperature and hurricane frequency appears to have increased about 3% during the time of observation, and sea-ice extent has decreased about 5% over the past 25 years.

            Graph 5 depicts changes in average global temperature changes over the last 100 years, and graph 6 shows the level of carbon dioxide in atmosphere in past 1200 years. Pros of global warming say that the increase in the level of carbon dioxide in atmosphere determines the global temperature.

1. EVIDENCE AGAINST GLOBAL WARMING

First off, it is important to address the fact that the Earth is not the only planet to be experiencing climate change in our solar system. According to Andrew Marshall, a Global Research astrophysicist, Pluto has been also experiencing global warming, and it is a seasonal event just like Earth’s seasons change (1-3). In May of 2006, Space.com reported that a massive hurricane occurred on Jupiter caused by climate change, which is expected to raise the planet’s temperature by 10 degrees (Goudarzi). In addition, National Geographic News reported that climate change is indeed a natural phenomenon as opposed to being man-made (Ravilious). This report mentions about NASA’s explanation that Mars’ carbon dioxide ice caps have been melting for a few years just like the Earth (“Global Warming Detected on Triton”). In 2004, the Associated Press and London Telegraph reported that satellites which measure the temperature of sunlight have been recording an increase in the sun’s temperature, meaning that the sun is warming up (“Study says sun getting hotter”) These records suggest that global warming was due to the sun being hotter than it has been in the past 100 years. This means that increasing radiation from the sun is resulting in our climate change.

Claude Allegre, a leading French scientist, was one of scientists who developed the theory of global warming 20 years ago. However, he now believes that increasing evidence indicates that most of the warming comes of natural phenomena. Dr. Allegre and a group of other scientists recently criticized Al Gore’s concept of greenhouse gases causing global warming, and called it “a shame.” They claim that there’s very little evidence to prove that theory, and data collected by satellites and Hubble Telescope show that an increase in solar activity being the cause of climate change (Marshall).

            In 2007, Professor Lockwood of the University of Southampton and Dr. Prohlich of Physics-Meteoritics Observatory suggested a number of evidences that the climate change is due to solar activity and some evidence suggested for global warming is unconvincing. Graph 7 shows the variations of solar radiation and graph 8 shows the change of the Sea-surface temperature in past 25 years. With these graphs, they pointed, “… the Earth’s sea-surface temperature does not respond to the solar cycle… even a large amplitude modulation would be heavily damped in the global mean temperature record by the long thermal time constants associated with parts of the climate system, in particular the oceans (Lockwood and Frolhich 3-4).” Why this phrase is important is that, the earth’s temperature is deeply related to the solar activity. For example, as more solar radiation reaches to the earth, the sea and surface temperature should increase in a response to the solar activity. However, graphs suggested by Professor Lockwood do not indicate that the change of the sea-surface temperature corresponds to the solar activity.

            Graph 9, 10, and 11 show the relationship between the solar radiation and sea-surface temperature in long term. These graphs show that the solar cycle length L presented here does not appear as similar to the inverse of the global temperature as reported elsewhere. This is because previous reports were smoothed with the long time-scale filter. What these graphs mean is that the sea-surface temperature does not follow the solar activity, which supposed to if the sea-surface temperature really measures the global warming.   

1. SUMMARY AND CONCLUSION

In December of 2008, more than 650 international scientists attempted to make themselves heard at that week’s UN Global Warming Conference in Poland. The purpose of the group behavior was to debunk claims made by the UN IPCC and former Vice President Al Gore. The 650 dissenting scientists are more than 12 times the number of UN scientists (52 scientists) who authored the media hyped IPCC 2007 Summary for Policymakers (Herr et al 1-2). Dr. Kiminori Itoh, an UN IPCC Japanese Scientists and an award-winning PhD environmental physical chemist, said, “Worst scientific scandal in the history… when people come to know what the truth is, they will feel deceived by science and scientists (Herr et al 5).” A Global Research astrophysicist Andrew Marshall recently revealed a correlation between temperature and cycle length of solar activity, which confirms that the current climate change is not man-made but is due to solar activity (“Global Warming: A Convenient Lie”). As shown in the graph, the land temperature of northern hemisphere follows the cycle length. This means that the cycle length of solar activity leads the temperature changes in the earth.

Those pros of man-made theory suggests the change sea-surface temperature, frequency of hurricanes, and extended icebergs, but they are all natural phenomenons that had happened in the past not only in the earth but also in other planets. Scientists have revealed that the change of sea-surface temperature does not match with the solar radiation and solar cycle, and even leading scientists of man-made theory fixed data and reports in order to promote a global panic. Not only that, those efforts to expose this myth were stifled and those who spoke out were attacked. In fact, there are reported cases of scientists who spoke out against the man-made theory as having received death threats. There were talk of relating those who speak out against the man-made theory as being equal to those who deny the Holocaust. In the Boston Globe commenting on the report issued by the United Nations, Ellen Goodman wrote, “Let’s just say that global warming deniers are now on a par with Holocaust deniers, though one denies the past and the other denies the present and future (“No Change in Political Climate”).” We need to think about why pros of the man-made theory do not suggest any further scientific evidences but publicly humiliate man-made theory deniers.

            Those against the man-made theory are not saying it isn’t a good idea to take action to help the environment, but they ask if the majority of scientific data points to the fact that global warming is caused by the sun, then we don’t have to waste our effort and monkey for carbon emission and new construction project so-called green development. If the problems we are facing are based on lies and conspiracy, it will be more difficult to find true solution to helping the environment. It is the time to end this worthless debate, and we should seek what we really can do for the environment with our effort and monkey.

천안함 사태와 북한의 이상한 반응

북한에서 정식으로 자신들이 한 것이 아니라는 입장을 표명했는데, 이것은 기존에 북한이 보이던 모습이 아니라서 좀 의아스럽습니다.

“비록 침몰한 함선이 남측 군함이지만 숱한 실종자와 구조된 인원들이 동족의 구성원이라는 점에서 지금까지 우리는 있어서는 안 될 유감스러운 불상사로 간주해 왔다”

위는 북에서 나온 발언입니다. 그런데 민간인이 아닌 서로 적대시하는 군인들 사이에서는 이런식의 발언은 어느 나라건 찾아보기 힘든 발언입니다. 그리고 평소 북의 어조가 아니라는 점에서 여러가지를 짐작케 합니다.

물론 “역적패당은 최근 외부 폭발이 어뢰에 의해 일어났고 그 어뢰는 우리 잠수정이나 반잠수정에 의해 발사됐을 가능성이 크다는 `북 관련설’을 날조하여 유포시키고 있다”, “제 입으로 함선 침몰 원인에 대해 해명할 수 있는 이렇다 할 근거를 아직도 찾지 못한 상태라고 공언하면서도 의도적으로 `북 관련설’을 내돌리는 가소로운 처사를 두고 일일이 대응할 필요가 없다는 것이 우리의 입장이었다”라는 평소와 같은 강경한 발언도 있지만 먼저 언급한 부분의 발언이 상당히 많은 얘기를 해주고 있는 것 같습니다.

최근 금강산 관광에 대해서 터무니 없는 생떼를 쓰며 남한 정부가 금강산 관광을 재계하라는 압박을 하는 상황과 중국 방문을 통해서 6자회담에 다시 나설 것이 예고되고 있는데 북한도 상당히 정신없는 모습을 보이고 있는 것 같습니다. 이번 천안함 사건과 북한이 관련이 있고 없고를 떠나서 평소와는 다른 반응을 보이고 있다는 점이 북한이 얼마나 혼란스러운지를 가늠해 볼 수 있습니다. 뽀그리양반도 후계문제부터 시작해서 고립된 상태에서 화폐개혁까지 상황이 안좋으니 정신이 없을 듯도 합니다.

만약 천안함이 정말 북한에서 한 것이면 대대적으로 승리를 떠들어 댔을 텐데 조용하다가 오히려 자신들이 아니라고 주장하는 것이 북한답지 않아보입니다. 북한도 아니라면 과연 누구일까요?

다음은 어제의 환율 하락 관련 언론기사입니다.

15일 서울외환시장에서 달러-원 환율은 전일대비 4.7원 하락한 1107.5원에 장을 마감했다. 2008년 9월10일(종가 1095.5원)을 이후 가장 낮은 수준으로, 리먼사태(2008년9월15일) 이전으로 복귀했다.

위 기사에서 보듯이 어제 환율이 1110원선마저 깨고 내려가 1107.5원을 기록했습니다. 리먼브러더스가 파산하기 직전의 환율이 1109.1원이었습니다. 위 기사가 언급했듯이 환율이 리먼 사태 이전으로 복귀한 것입니다.

한국 관련 주요 금융지표들이 리먼사태 이전 수준으로 모두 회복됐다. 
코스피 지수와 CDS 프리미엄, 외평채 가산금리 등이 이미 금융위기 이전 수준으로 되돌아간 가운데, 달러-원 환율도 무디스의 국가신용등급 상향에 힘입어 1100원대로 복귀해’정상화’의 막차를 탔다.

위 기사를 보면 어제 환율이 리먼 사태 이전으로 복귀해 ‘정상화’의 막차를 탐으로써 우리나라의 주요 금융지표들이 ‘모두’ 리먼사태 이전 수준으로 회복됐습니다.

그렇다면 리먼브러더스 파산사태 이후 패닉을 몰고왔던 경제위기가 이제 다 끝난 것일까요?

위 기사가 언급하고 있듯이 ‘한국 관련 주요 금융지표들이 리먼사태 이전 수준으로 모두 회복됐다’고 하면 경제위기가 이제 다 끝난 것으로 해석하는 것이 맞을 듯도 합니다.

하지만 위 기사는 한 가지 중요한 사항을 빠뜨리고 있습니다.

그것은 우리나라의 각종 경제지표는 독립변수가 아니라는 사실입니다.

원래 우리나라는 중국과 더불어 대외의존도가 가장 높은 경제였습니다.

그런데 08년 하반기에 터져나온 경제위기가 진행되면서 우리나라의 대외의존도가 더욱 심화되었기 때문에 이제는 중국보다도 훨씬 더 대외의존도가 높아졌습니다.(단 중국은 우리나라보다 부동산버블이 더 심각하고, 고정투자 의존도가 높다는 사실이 문제입니다.)

대외의존도가 높은 우리나라 경제는 독립변수가 아니라 철저하게 세계 경제에 대한 종속변수에 불과하다는 사실을 명심해야 합니다.

따라서 우리나라의 주요 금융지표들이 모두 리먼사태 이전 수준으로 회복됐다는 것이 의미를 갖지 못합니다.

우리나라의 향후 경제동향을 예측하려면 세계 경제의 동향을 살펴보아야 합니다. 그 중에서도 특히 미국 시장을 살펴봐야 합니다.

미국 시장의 동향이 어떠한지를 보여주는 경제지표들도 매우 많습니다.

그 중에서도 특히 어떤 지표를 살펴보아야 할까요?

미국에서 08년말에 터진 금융위기가 순식간에 세계 경제로 파급된 이유가 무엇인지는 다음 그래프를 보면 명백하게 알 수 있습니다.

08년 하반기부터 세계 경제위기가 불거지면서 우리나라에서 ‘화폐전쟁’이라는 이름의 책이 베스트셀러가 되었습니다. 이는 사람들이 무의식 중에 어떤 요인이 현 시점에서 가장 중요한 것인지를 느꼈기 때문에 나타난 현상이라고 볼 수도 있습니다.

현 시점에서 가장 중요한 요인은 ‘화폐’입니다.

‘자본’주의 경제체제라는 것은 모든 것이 ‘돈’을 중심으로 해서 돌아가는 것입니다. ‘화폐’가 가장 중요한 요인일 수밖에 없습니다.

화폐 중에서도 세계의 ‘돈’, 세계의 기축통화인 미국 달러화의 동향이 가장 중요한 것입니다.

따라서 미국 달러화의 동향을 보여주는 달러인덱스가 가장 중요한 금융지표라고 할 수 있습니다.

달러인덱스의 동향을 보여주는 위 차트는 우리에게 현 상황이 어떠하다고 얘기해주고 있을까요?

현 시점의 달러인덱스는 리먼브러더스 파산사태가 터진 ‘이후’인 08년 10월 수준입니다. 이미 전고점 대비 절반 수준까지 상승한 상태입니다.

달러인덱스가 우리에게 명백하게 말해주고 있는 것은,

중간에 잠깐 쉬는 시간은 이미 끝났고, 현 시점은 위기가 다시 심화되고 있다는 사실입니다.

혹시 이에 대해 달러인덱스는 상승하고 있지만, 우리나라를 포함하여 ‘신흥국’ 통화들은 미국 달러화에 대해 강세를 보이고 있다고 반론을 제기할 분이 계실지도 모르겠습니다.

변동환율제를 가져온 1970년대의 닉슨 선언 이후 달러인덱스가 급한 변동을 보일 때마다 ‘신흥국’통화들이 어떤 일들을, 그것도 반복해서 당해왔는지에 대해 궁금하신 분들은, 찰스 킨들버거의 ‘광기, 패닉, 붕괴 – 금융위기의 역사’를 꼭 읽어보시기를 권유해드립니다.

80년대의 제3세계 외채위기, 90년대 하반기의 아시아 외환위기를 겪고 나서도 ‘신흥국 통화들은 강세다’라는 말이 나오는 것을 보면,

그냥 ‘할 말이 없다’고 할 밖에 다른 할 말을 찾을 수가 없습니다.

과거 두 차례의 큰 위기와 고통을 겪고나서, 신흥국들은 선진국들(특히 미국)에게 큰 불만을 제기했습니다. 이제 세 번째 위기와 고통을 겪고나서도 또 불만이 터져나올 것입니다.

그런데 돌아가는 모양새를 보면, 신흥국들의 자업자득이라고 할 밖에 크게 할 말도 없겠다 싶습니다.

한 번 실수는 누구나 할 수 있습니다. 하지만 두 번째에도 똑같은 실수를 반복하는 것은 문제입니다.

하물며 과거에 두 번씩이나 커다란 위기와 고통을 반복하고도 깨닫지 못하고, 똑같은 위기를 세 번째 반복하는 사람에게 무슨 변명이 있을 수 있겠습니까?

위 달러인덱스 차트가 명백하게 사전경고를 발하고 있는데도, ‘신흥국 통화는 강세다’라고 얘기하는 신흥국 사람들을 보며 선진국 사람들은 속으로 얼마나 비웃고 있을지…

저는 풀뿌리 외환보유고 쌓기를 권유해드렸습니다.

어제 환율이 1110원 선마저 깨고 하락했으니 아무래도 걱정이 많이 되실 듯 합니다.

지금까지 줄곧 설명드려온 저의 견해를 수정할 아무런 이유가 없습니다.

환율이 하락하면 할수록, 스프링을 과도하게 누르는 것처럼 앞으로 되튀어 오르기 위한 에너지가 과도하게 축적되는 것일 뿐입니다.

앞으로 우리나라의 환율이 상승으로 돌아섰을 때는, 다른 나라의 환율보다 더 크게 상승하게 될 것입니다.

저는 지금까지 우리나라의 환율이 오를 수밖에 없는 이유에 대해 충분히 설명드려왔기 때문에 여기서 설명을 다시 반복하는 것은 의미가 없다고 봅니다.
